I think I fell in love with a juice last night. I had never tried Sugar Cane juice. I was super curious when I saw there was a company in Staten Island that makes it cause I don't think of it as something produced outside of islands, and definitely to try it. I read the info about how it wouldn't spike blood sugar and all the awesome health benefits sugar cane juice was being praised for, but still wasn't sure if it was going to feel like a giant sweet tooth binge when i drank it.
On the contrary. First of all, SUGAR CANE JUICE IS DELICIOUS! The one i tried last night was mixed with ginger and lime and it was a perfect clean feeling blend. On top of that, I really didn't feel thrown into any sort of sugar binge imbalance. In fact, my body felt like it stayed more in balance than even when i just drink coconut water. But the most awesome thing about sugar cane juice was that I've had the flu for a few days. Yesterday was a largely recovered, but super low energy day. I had some Nettle infusion to replenish my body, but was still feeling super drained from being sick. When i had the sugar cane juice I felt like it re-plenished the energy store that had gotten zapped from my body. It was totally unexpected, but suddenly I felt recharged and rebalanced! I am still amazed at how much this juice helped to re-store my energy reserves.
Beyond that, it felt crisp and clean in my body to drink and gave me a sort of light feeling that was awesome in contrast to the heavy winter air. Add that to delicious and I would say you absolutely have to try this juice. I'm about to try out some of the straight sugar cane one without the ginger lime so watch for an upload on my IG for that! I'll be blending it up with a little pineapple and cilantro for a yummy breakfast drink.
